Set your camera on " Aperture Priority " mode by rotating the dial on the top of the camera to "A" position. In Aperture Priority mode, you set the lens aperture manually, while the camera picks the right Shutter Speed for you. Rotate the front dial of the camera located under the camera shutter release to change aperture. To reset the D90 to its default settings, follow these steps: Set the Mode dial to P. Press and hold the and buttons for two seconds. The LCD screen on the top of the camera will go blank for a moment, and when it comes back up, the camera's essential settings will be reset to their factory defaults. The Nikon D90 provides a live view via its USB connection. The live view size is 640 x 426. The Nikon live view does not have live view exposure simulation. Camera Settings. Set the Mode Dial to Manual (M). Put the camera into live view mode and set Focus Mode to AF-S. (Then take camera out of live view mode.) That said, I have learned that when you expose for the shadows, M-mode is more useful than allowing the camera to take control. When composing a scene, only M-mode lets you play with the contrasts between light and dark as well as dof.. For a backyard bbq, where family snapshots are important, M-mode is not so critical. 7. You can manually control the flashes output by using the +/- button next to that button. Look on page 4, 70 and 91 in your user manual Home › Consumer DSLR Cameras The D90 also includes a nice feature for those who like to make exposures in manual mode: two control dials (one on the front of the camera that changes aperture and one on the rear that changes shutter speed) The live view mode on the Nikon D90 makes a few improvements over the older live view systems, but still has its limitations. Here's how to do it on a Nikon D7100, and let's use the Fn button: Press the MENU button. Choose the CUSTOM SETTINGS menu (the pencil icon). Choose CONTROLS and press OK. Select ASSIGN FN BUTTON and press OK. Select PRESS + COMMAND DIALS and press OK. Select CHOOSE NON-CPU LENS NUMBER and press OK. Back out of the menu system. I bought the NIKON D90 with 18 - 105 mm lens last week. I shot some pictures in an arena on the weekend. I put the NIKON in MANUAL Mode The WEIRD thing was that the aperture was setting itself automatically every time I zoomed in and out of a scene. I didn't have any control of the APERTURE setting. Is this normal? It's probably something that could be made configurable, so the user can choose whether Auto ISO will be disabled when in Manual mode, or they could add an extra mode like the one on Pentax cameras (called "Shutter & Aperture priority" or "TAv") that allows you to achieve the same thing. -- hide signature -- pixelfixer.org Free Download Nikon D90 PDF User Manual, User Guide, Instructions, Nikon D90 Owner's Manual.
